How It Works

From order to first route in three steps.

No tickets going back and forth for a week. You verify, we configure, you announce.

01

Verify your ASN

Send your ASN, the prefix you want to announce, a Letter of Authorization and a valid RPKI ROA. We check it against the routing registries.

02

We configure the session

We set up the eBGP session to your VM with prefix filters, a max-prefix limit and RPKI validation, then send you the peer details.

03

You announce

Bring the session up from your side, announce your routes and watch them propagate on the looking glass. Usually live the same day.

Included on every plan.

The session, the RPKI checks and the scrubbing are set up by default. You size the VM, we handle the routing side.

Full eBGP session

Announce your own routes from your ASN. A real router adjacency on the network side, not a static IP handed to you and forgotten.

RPKI validation

We validate routes with RPKI and drop RPKI-invalid announcements. A signed ROA is what lets the rest of the internet reject hijacks of your prefix.

Anti-DDoS that stays up

Layer 3, Layer 4 and Layer 7 scrubbing sits in front of the VM and filters attack traffic without tearing down your BGP session.

IPv4 and IPv6

Dual stack from day one. Announce IPv4 and IPv6 prefixes over the same session, manage your own PTR and RDNS records on both.

Default route or full table

A default route is on by default. Ask for the full table when you are testing route selection or running a lab, behind a max-prefix limit so a leak cannot drop the session.

Root and a public looking glass

Full root on the VM, plus a public looking glass so you can verify routes, latency and peering from the Frankfurt node yourself.

Bring Your Own IP

Bring your own IP space (BYOIP).

Keep your /24 and your reputation across providers. Three ways to start, depending on what you already hold.

You hold a /24

Already have your own block? Send an LOA and a signed ROA. We announce it from your ASN, so your IP reputation moves with you instead of staying with the old host.

No space yet

No prefix of your own? Lease a block from us and announce it from your session. Move to your own space later without re-architecting anything.

No ASN yet

We can announce space to you from our ASN to get you routing, or point you to your RIR to register your own. Either way you start the same day and grow into a full setup.

European Connectivity

Frankfurt FRA-1.
At the heart of Europe.

FRA-1 peers directly with the major European internet exchanges, so your announcements reach the continent over short paths. Low latency across the EU and the UK, with Layer 3/4/7 scrubbing in front of your session at the network edge.

Use Cases

When a BGP VPS makes sense

The jobs people actually put BGP on a VPS for, instead of taking a plain server on someone else's IPs.

Multi-homing and failover

Announce the same prefix here and at another provider, so traffic reroutes when one path goes down instead of taking your service with it.

Anycast nodes

Add a Frankfurt node to your anycast DNS, CDN or game backend by announcing your shared prefix from this VM.

IP reputation you keep

Run mail or outbound services on your own clean /24. When you move, the reputation moves with you, not with the host.

Learning BGP for real

A live session beats a lab emulator. Take a full table, watch path selection, break things safely behind a max-prefix limit.

DDoS-resilient routing

Keep announcing through an attack. Scrubbing filters the flood while your session and your prefix stay up.

Migrating IP space

Moving a /24 between providers? Announce it from here during the cutover so nothing goes dark mid-migration.

Compare

BGP VPS vs a standard VPS vs your own hardware

A standard VPS gives you a server on our IPs and stops there. Your own router with IP transit gives you full control but takes weeks and a rack to set up. A BGP VPS sits in between, with a real session and your own prefixes, live the same day and nothing to rack.

Feature Standard VPS BGP VPS Own router + IP transit
Announce your own prefixes No Yes Yes
Your ASN Not used Yes Yes
Setup time Minutes Same day Weeks
Anti-DDoS Included Included, L3/4/7 You arrange it
Hardware to manage None None Router, rack, cross-connect
Best for Hosting on our IPs BYOIP and routing control Large operators

Most teams that need routing control without the rack pick the BGP VPS. Need a plain server on our IPs instead? See our general purpose VPS, or read more about our BGP and IP transit.

Frequently asked questions

The questions we get before people order. Something not covered here? Open a ticket or ping us on Discord, real engineers reply.

What is a BGP VPS?

A BGP VPS is a virtual server we wire to your own eBGP session, so you announce your own IP prefixes from it instead of using ours. You get root on the VM and a real routing adjacency on the network side.

Can I bring my own IP space (BYOIP)?

Yes. Send a Letter of Authorization and a valid RPKI ROA for your prefix and we announce it from your ASN. Your IP reputation and your /24 stay yours when you move between providers.

Do I need my own ASN and IP block?

For a full session you need an ASN and at least a /24 (IPv4) or /48 (IPv6). If you do not have an ASN yet we can announce space to you from ours, or point you to your RIR to register one.

Default route or the full BGP table?

A default route is on by default. Ask for a full table if you are testing route selection or running a lab, with a max-prefix limit so a route leak cannot take the session down.

Is the BGP VPS DDoS protected?

Yes. Layer 3, Layer 4 and Layer 7 scrubbing runs in front of the VM and is built to filter attack traffic without tearing down your BGP session.

Do you support IPv6 and RPKI?

Yes to both. We validate routes with RPKI and drop RPKI-invalid announcements, and we expect a signed ROA for anything you announce.

Can I verify the network before I buy?

Yes. Open our looking glass and check routes, latency and peering from the Frankfurt node yourself before you order.

Where is the BGP VPS hosted?

Frankfurt, Germany (FRA), with direct peering to the major European internet exchanges for low latency across the EU.

Is port 25 open for outbound mail?

Yes, port 25 and port 587 are open. Each IPv4 is capped at 100 emails per hour to keep network reputation clean. Need more, open a ticket.

How fast is setup?

The VM deploys in minutes. The BGP session goes live once we verify your ASN and ROA, usually the same day.

How much traffic is included, and can I get more?

Every plan includes 5 TB of monthly traffic. You can add more during checkout, or upgrade later from a support ticket.
